About Nicole

Nicole Piller is a Pilates and Yoga teacher, Pilates Teacher Trainer, Franklin Method Educator,  Level 1 & 2 ELDOA instructor, and Reiki Practitioner based in Toronto, Canada. With more than  25 years of experience in movement education and bodywork, she brings a deep, multidisciplinary understanding of the human body to her teaching.

Nicole’s lifelong relationship with movement began in childhood as a classical ballet dancer. After completing a graduate year at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, she hung up her point shoes in 1991 and went on to earn a BA from McGill University, followed by two years at George Brown Theatre School, where she trained extensively in movement and kinesthetic awareness.

She discovered Pilates while recovering from a dance injury and completed the comprehensive certification at STOTT Pilates in 2001. She continued her studies for four years with Master Teacher Dianne Miller in Mat, Reformer, Chair, and rehabilitation, completing a second full comprehensive certification in pilates and rehabilitation.

Alongside Pilates, Nicole has practiced yoga since her early twenties and completed a two‑year comprehensive certification at Esther Myers Yoga Studio, as well as pre‑ and post‑natal yoga training (2006). She continues to study yoga including yoga for mental health and trauma informed yoga, and meditation with Seane Corn, Ashley Turner, and Tara Brach.

Nicole completed the Franklin Method Level 1 Teacher Training in 2015 with Eric Franklin and Morten Dithmer. The Franklin Method’s experiential anatomy and imagery‑based approach strongly influence her teaching and personal practice. She has also certified in Myofascial Stretching (Guy Voyer & Paul Sherman), and has trained in spinal ELDOA for 15 years, including studies with Guy Voyer in 2011. In the same year, she completed First and Second Degree Reiki training (Usui lineage) and integrates Reiki healing into all aspects of her work.

Her teaching is grounded in a rich understanding of anatomy, alignment, kinesthetic awareness, and breath. Nicole creates a safe, encouraging environment that supports exploration, learning, and personal growth. She guides students toward becoming their own teachers and healers, working with the physical, mental, and emotional bodies to foster integration of body, mind, and soul. Her passion for movement and healing is infused with intuition, kindness, humour, and sprinkled with joy.

Beyond her roles as teacher and healer, Nicole is a lifelong student, mother, and clown. Her clown persona, Countess Von Tilda Von Schiffenberg the Third, was delighted to earn a place in Cirque du Soleil’s Artist Bank.  She has yet to run away with the circus….
